World-renowned harpist and singer, Erin Hill performs songs from the 80’s with her 10-piece band, which includes: drums, bass, pedal steel guitar, backup singers, violin, cello, flute, sax, horns, and Erin on electric harp and vocals. Erin will perform her unique, electric harp-based arrangements of Prince, The Police, U2, Bruce Springsteen, Bill Withers, David Bowie. Kate Bush, The Psychedelic Furs, Fleetwood Mac, Michael Jackson, Duran Duran, and more.
Erin Hill has had a #1 album on the Billboard world chart and has opened for/played and sung with Cyndi Lauper, Enya, Kanye West, moby, Sinead O’Connor, Peabo Bryson, Levon Helm, a-ha, Judy Collins, Josh Groban, Jewel, and for celebrities, Presidents, First Ladies, and for royalty. She’s played solo at The Royal Albert Hall, Carnegie Hall, and is also known as “The Pretty White Girl who Sings Dave’s Thoughts” from Comedy Central’s Chappelle’s Show (she also wrote the music for the sketch).
Erin’s been heard on SiriusXM The Beatles Channel and she released her harp & vox cover of “Eleanor Rigby” as a single & a music video in 2021. On her album Harp Town, Erin sings and plays songs by Kate Bush, Smashing Pumpkins, Lady Gaga, The Beatles, Alicia Keys, Roxy Music, Adele, Tim Buckley, Til Tuesday, Kansas, Leonard Cohen, Rihanna, Radiohead, U2, and even Edith Piaf and Frank Sinatra.
In addition to being a rock harpist, Erin is also a Celtic/Irish harpist and singer; her Celtic album Four Leaf Clover hit #1 on the Billboard World chart. On television, she was featured on Bravo’s “Million Dollar Listing,” and by HBO in a “Game of Thrones” promo playing the “Game of Thrones” theme on her harp. She is also known as The Singing Harpist at The Peninsula Hotel, The Plaza Hotel, and the Ritz-Carlton on Central Park South in NYC. Her wide range of styles includes pop, rock, jazz standards, country, Celtic/Irish, and opera.
Erin toured with the Lincoln Center South Pacific as harpist and pianist, and is the harpist on the new soundtrack for The Fantasticks, on Martha Wainwright’s self-titled debut album, on various commercials (Dunkin’ Donuts, etc.) and on MTV2’s Wonder Showzen. As a voice-over artist and jingle singer she’s been heard on commercials from Coca-Cola, Comcast, Tide and Match.com to Play-Doh, Walmart and Dunkin’ Donuts.
In the film Clear Blue Tuesday, she is a composer, screenwriter, and actor. The New York Times said: “Erin Hill, as a giddy, harp-playing Trekker, is a standout… The best and funniest scene in the film is Ms. Hill’s....” Erin was also in the Tim Robbins film Cradle Will Rock (and appears on the soundtrack alongside Eddie Vedder and PJ Harvey); HBO’s The Chris Rock Show; Comedy Central’s Chappelle’s Show; and PBS’s American Masters.
As a stage actor, she was in the original Broadway casts of Titanic, Sam Mendes’ Cabaret, and Urinetown and has twice been part of the Sundance Theater Lab in Utah, originating the role of Ilse in Spring Awakening. She was seen most recently in A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Classic Stage Company in NYC alongside Bebe Neuwirth and Christina Ricci (Newsday called her “the dangerously enjoyable Erin Hill”). Erin also did Original Music and Sound Design for the Drama Desk Award-nominated “That Play: a Solo Macbeth.”
Erin toured with and opened for a-ha in 2008 in Europe and London, where she played solo at the Royal Albert Hall. Erin is also a huge Beatles fan, and performs regularly with Jimmy Vivino (of Conan O’Brien) and Will Lee (of Letterman) in The Fab Faux. And lastly, she also juggles and is an expert at walking on her hands (one of which can be seen in the film Clear Blue Tuesday, and the other on The Rosie O’Donnell Show, the 52nd Annual Tony Awards, and Late Night with David Letterman).
The best part of the show was the moment when… Erin Hill, a fine harpist, raised her voice in solo….
— New York Times
Hill is a standout… and dauntingly versatile.... Erin Hill is lovely… and then there’s the delicious sound of that harp!
— Variety
This exceptional artist is an indie pop ace in the hole… Her voice is expressive and lovely. Erin shows an artist’s gift for knowing what each song requires vocally, and has the ability to deliver it… Erin’s wit is sharply evident throughout… quirky, psychedelic, and lavishly whimsical…
