NEWS RELEASE Ogle Center at Indiana University Southeast Contact: Ken Atkins Arts & Events Specialist Office of Marketing and Communications Indiana University Southeast (812) 941-2523 | atkins@ius.edu FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE The Ogle Center at IU Southeast announces 2023-2024 season First full season since COVID shutdown NEW ALBANY, Ind. (July 28, 2023) — The Ogle Center at Indiana University Southeast is excited to announce its first full season of performances since COVID forced the cancellation of in-person events. “The past several years have been challenging for all of us, but the Ogle Center continues to rebound and return to presenting world-class performances, educational offerings, diverse speaker series, and more events like we provided prior to the pandemic,” said Kirk Randolph, who is marking his tenth year as director of the Ogle Center. According to Randolph, “the Ogle Center is the heart of the arts and entertainment for our Southern Indiana region – it’s where our community comes together to share a mutual love of the arts. When that was taken away by the pandemic shutdown, we all realized the vital and necessary role the arts play in our lives.” The centerpiece of the Ogle Center’s 2023-2024 season is the return of its signature series, THE OGLE CENTER PRESENTS, featuring a variety of professional, nationally-touring artists. In addition to The Ogle Center, the Ogle Center – which is now a part of the Indiana University Southeast School of Arts & Letters – will present performances and recitals by faculty and students of the IU SOUTHEAST MUSIC DEPARTMENT as well as the theatrical productions of the IU SOUTHEAST THEATRE DEPARTMENT. New for 2023-2024, in collaboration with the IU Southeast Campus Activities Board, the Ogle Center will transform into a movie theater on five Monday evenings throughout the 2023- 2024 academic year when it presents its MOVIE MONDAYS series. Tickets for the Monday Movies are free for IU Southeast students, and only $5 for the general public. Movies on the series will include recent releases and well as popular classics. Popcorn and other concessions will be available for purchase. The Ogle Center is also pleased to welcome back the LOUISVILLE ORCHESTRA for its 2023-2024 NightLites series of concerts, featuring incredible classical pieces presented in the intimate setting of the Ogle Center’s Stem Concert Hall. In addition to live performances, the Ogle Center will continue to host university events, lectures, art exhibits, and other community events. “The opportunity to enjoy live, in-person performances is an unrivaled treat we all hold more dearly than ever. This season is filled with performances the entire family can enjoy. The joy of experiencing the arts is back at the Ogle Center,” said Randolph. Tickets for performances on The Ogle Center Present, IU Southeast Music Department, and the Movie Mondays series go on sale August 1, 2023. Discounts* for purchasing tickets early are available through August 22, 2023 on purchases in a single transaction to at least three or more different performances.
