LOUISVILLE YOUTH ORCHESTRA
Symphony Orchestra
Side-by-Side with the Louisville Orchestra

Experience the extraordinary energy of the Louisville Youth Orchestra’s Symphony Orchestra as these talented young musicians perform side-by-side with professional musicians from the Louisville Orchestra. This inspiring collaboration offers audiences a powerful glimpse into the future of orchestral music while giving students the rare opportunity to rehearse and perform professional-level repertoire alongside seasoned artists.

This special performance showcases the dedication, artistry, and passion of some of the region’s most accomplished student musicians. As the Louisville Youth Orchestra’s most advanced ensemble, the Symphony Orchestra brings both youthful excitement and impressive musical skill to the stage in a program designed to challenge, inspire, and celebrate the next generation of performers.

The concert features dramatic and richly colored orchestral favorites including Gustav Holst’s The Planets and Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade, along with performances by the winners of the annual Concerto Competition. It is an unforgettable afternoon of mentorship, musicianship, and symphonic storytelling.

All Indiana University events, programs, groups, activities, educational, cultural, and historical observances are open to all members of the Indiana University community.
