A modern telling of William Shakespeare’s
Twelfth Night, or What You Will
directed by Tyler Tate
This modern adaptation takes place in the late 90’s Y2K era. Viola is separated from her twin brother, Sebastian, on their first day at Illyria University. Eager to survive the intensity of I.U. and find her brother, she disguises herself as a fraternity pledge named “Cesario.” While in disguise, Viola develops a crush on the dean of pledges, Orsino, but he’s in love with his classmate, Olivia. Orsino sends “Cesario” on a mission to help him win Olivia over, but Olivia falls for Cesario. The students of I.U. find themselves in a world of confusion as they sort through hidden feelings and mistaken identities.
