Commonwealth Brass Band to present free concert at IU Southeast on March 30

NEW ALBANY, Ind. (Mar. 10, 2022) — The Music Department at Indiana University Southeast will present the Commonwealth Brass Band on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at 7:30 p.m. in the Richard K. Stem Concert Hall in the Paul W. Ogle Cultural and Community Center on the IU Southeast campus, 4201 Grant Line Road in New Albany. Admission is free, but donations are appreciated. Under the baton of director, J. Jerome Amend and associate director, Anita Cocker Hunt, the band will perform the Little Fugue in G Minor by Johann Sebastian Bach (arr. Sandy Smith), Russische Fantasie No. 1 in C minor by Paul Wiggert (arr. J. Jerome Amend) featuring cornet soloist, Shawn Roark, Strike Up the Band by George Gershwin (arr. Godfrey “Goff” Richards), Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by John Williams (arr. Stephen Sykes), Gaelforce by Peter Graham, I Got Rhythm by George Gershwin (arr. Alan Fernie), The Three Musketeers by George William Hespe, and Caravan by Duke Ellington and Juan Tizol (arr. Stephen Sykes).

Free parking is available in the Dogwood lot directly in front of the Ogle Center and in the Hickory lot directly behind the Ogle Center from one hour prior to the start of the performance until one hour following the conclusion of the performance. Vehicles parked in other locations and/or at other times will be subject to ticketing.
